Favorite Family Photo Locations in Frederick & Montgomery County, Maryland

Family photos aren’t just about choosing a pretty spot — they’re about choosing a place where your family can relax, move, and simply be together. As a family photographer serving Frederick County and Montgomery County, Maryland, I help families choose locations that photograph beautifully and work well for real life (kids included).
Below are some of my favorite family photo locations across both counties — each offering something a little different depending on your style, season, and family dynamic.

  • Peaceful, storybook feel

HOW I HELP FAMILIES CHOOSE BETWEEN COUNTIES

Many families ask whether Frederick County or Montgomery County is better for their session. The answer depends on:

  • the look you’re drawn to (garden vs natural vs urban)
  • how far you want to travel
  • kids’ ages and energy levels
  • season and timing
I help families narrow this down so the location feels like the right fit — not just a popular one.

If you’re planning family photos in Frederick or Montgomery County and aren’t sure which location is best, I’ll help guide you through every step — from choosing the right spot to planning timing and outfits.

More Location Options Available

While these are some of my favorite go-to locations for family photos, they’re just the beginning. I’ve built an extensive list of additional photo locations throughout Frederick and Montgomery County, including quieter hidden spots and lesser-known areas that work beautifully depending on the season and your family’s needs.

Once you book, I help you narrow down the best location based on your style, your children’s ages, timing, and the overall feel you’re drawn to — so your session feels thoughtful and personalized, not one-size-fits-all.

If you have a specific look in mind or want something a little different, I’m always happy to suggest options that fit your vision.
